Our history

On the banks of the Saône, a 200-year-old house that honours its eponymous name is an ideal place to rediscover with simplicity the richness of the terroir: snails, meurette eggs, ground pikeperch, andouillettes, calf’s head, bœuf bourguignon en cocotte…

In 1804, Le Lamartine opened its doors next to the Saône of Mâcon, the famous poet of the same name and a native of the town was only 14 years old at the time.

From this period, the establishment has retained all its splendour and romantic elegance of art deco style.

Pascal

“A historic address in Mâcon, Le Lamartine lives up to its reputation. A menu to which the waters of the Saône have given a touch of the nearby heritage of Lyon. The setting is superb in the spirit of the great brasseries. A sure value”.
